Lyft Driver Centers: Get Repairs, Mobile Maintenance, and Openbay Discounts [CLOSED]

By Doug H, Updated July 20, 2023 Leave a Comment

2023 Note: Driver Centers and Mobile Mechanic are no longer available

Lyft drivers: If you need vehicle maintenance or repairs, Lyft now has several options to connect you with convenient mechanic services.

  • Lyft Driver Centers – Get maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics
  • Lyft Mobile Mechanic – A mechanic comes to you for basic maintenance and repairs

Read on to learn more about each vehicle service.

What are Lyft Driver Centers?

Lyft Driver Centers are mechanic facilities for vehicle maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics. Lyft only operates Driver Centers in select cities, so check the link below to see if a driver center is available near you.

How to get an appointment for vehicle services at a Driver Center

Click here to schedule vehicle services at your local Driver center. You will have to log in and select the vehicle that you want to be serviced.

The vehicle services that you can get at a Driver Center

Vehicle services at Driver Centers range from inspections and basic maintenance all the way up to complete engine repairs and collision damage repair.

Schedule an appointment to see what kind of vehicle services you can get at the nearest location.

The type of vehicle services vary from location to location, but generally you can get:

  • Diagnostics
  • Oil and filter change
  • Battery, spark plug replacement
  • Brake maintenance
  • Wheel alignment
  • Tire rotation
  • Get your vehicle inspected

At some locations, you can get complete auto services:

  • Suspension work
  • Engine repair and swap
  • Transmission repair and swap
  • Heating & AC work
  • Body work, collision damage repair

How much do vehicle services cost through Lyft?

Generally, the cost of vehicle services at Driver Centers is competitive with other name-brand auto service chains & dealerships but may be more expensive than local independent mechanics.

One nice feature of Lyft vehicle services is that you will receive an up-front estimate when you make your appointment.

Routine services like an oil change or tire rotation offer an exact estimate, but more complicated services may only offer a ballpark range, or you may have to visit the Driver Center to get a more accurate estimate.

Here’s an example of vehicle services costs at a Driver Center in Los Angeles:

Driver Center prices: Maybe high of normal for LA

The cost for the oil change and brake pads are on the high side of normal for LA. You may be able to find cheaper work, but the convenience of doing a Lyft vehicle inspection & basic maintenance all in one trip can make it worth the extra cost.

Have a Lyft mechanic come to you

Don’t want to drive out to a Driver Center? Lyft offers mobile mechanic services in some cities. A mechanic can travel to your location to do basic maintenance and repairs.

As you might imagine, not all repair services are available from mobile mechanics. The chart on this page shows what you can get at a mobile mechanic vs a Driver Center.

To see if mobile mechanics are available near you, start the vehicle service appointment process and see if mobile mechanics show up as an option.

Lyft partnership with Openbay: Get a discount (No longer available)

Openbay is an online automotive repair and maintenance marketplace that helps you shop for nearby auto services.

Lyft used to partner with Openbay to offer discounts for Lyft drivers, but the partnership was discontinued.
