If you drive for Lyft, you will eventually need to contact Lyft support to get help. You might have a missing cancel fee, a problem with a rider, or an unpaid Streak bonus.
Lyft gives drivers several ways to get help from Lyft driver support, including a live chat.
But keep in mind that you can’t call Lyft unless you are in the Gold rewards tier, or higher.
Read on to learn all of the ways that drivers can get help from Lyft.
The best ways to contact Lyft driver support
- Live chat with driver support: Menu (☰) > Get Help > Chat with Lyft support

Get help in the Lyft driver app
Drivers can get help with most common issues inside by visiting the Get Help section found in the main menu of the app, the Earnings dashboard on the home screen, or by tapping a dropdown Contact menu that appears during a ride.
Lyft uses a live chat feature to give support for most issues. In the chat, Lyft representatives will try to help you with your issue and answer any questions you have.
You can start a live chat by reporting an issue with an individual ride, or by directly beginning a chat session by going to: Menu > Get Help > Help Center > Chat with Lyft support.
Report issues with an individual ride in the Earnings area and chat with Lyft
You can report most typical problems in the Earnings area of the app. Find the ride, tap on it, then scroll to get help. Nearly all common issues will be listed.
For many issues, reporting the problem will start a live chat with Lyft driver support.
Start a live chat with Lyft support
To start a live chat, go to Menu > Get Help > Help Center > scroll to Chat with Lyft support.
Lyft now allows drivers to directly begin a chat session with driver support. You no longer have to use the Help section of ride receipts or dig around support articles to find a chat link.
But if you need help with a common ride issue, it may be faster to report it in the Help section of the ride receipt.
Common driver issues that you can report at the bottom of every ride receipt
Use the help section at the bottom of each ride record to report issues such as:
- Missing cancel fees
- Missing bonuses and promotions
- Report a rider for inappropriate behavior
- Request a fare review
- Final price didn’t match the upfront price
- Found a lost item
- Picked up the wrong passenger
- Unaccompanied minor
There is no customer service phone number for drivers until you reach the Gold or Platinum rewards level
You can’t call Lyft to get help unless it is about a serious safety issue. There is one exception: Drivers who reach the Gold & Platinum rewards tier can call a special phone support line for drivers.
If you aren’t in the Gold or Platinum rewards tier, the chat features in the app and at help.lyft.com are the primary way to contact Lyft and get help.
The Lyft Safety Team has a phone line, but it is reserved for serious issues like reporting car accidents or safety problems with a passenger. Don’t expect the Safety Team to help if you call about a routine issue.
Is the Platinum phone support better than the live chat support?
Many drivers assume that phone support is better than live chat support, but that’s not always true. Here’s a scathing review from a driver:
“So I made the Platinum level last month and one of the perks is that you get to actually have a real phone call with support. Great, right?
Yeah, no. I’ve had to call 4x last week and the “results” are just as empty, nonsensical, and unhelpful as chat would spit out.”
Just like the live chat, phone support agents typically only listen to your problem then escalate your ticket to another team who will get back to you later. They rarely solve your problem while you are on the phone and you’re left waiting for further follow up.
The Get Help section in the Driver app: Contact support and read informational articles
The Get Help section in the main menu of the driver app is a good way to find answers common questions and start a chat thread with driver support.
Many of the articles have a Contact us button that will begin a live chat with driver support.
If you need to contact driver support but the issue isn’t about an individual ride, try to find an article that matches your issue in the Get Help area, then tap the Contact Us button at the bottom of most articles.
How to get help during a ride
During a ride, a dropdown menu will appear in the upper corner of the screen that contains a “Contact support” button.
This help feature is reserved for issues during a ride, like a problem with the app or a safety concern.
Get help at at help.lyft.com
Many of the help features inside the Lyft driver app are also available at help.lyft.com.
At help.lyft.com, you can search for help articles that address general issues, or you can contact Lyft driver support by scrolling to the “Contact us” button at the bottom of each page.
From there, select the topic that closely matches your issue. If you can’t find one that exactly matches your issue, try to find one that contains a blank text box.
Lyft Hubs: In-person help is no longer available
There is no longer a way to get in-person help at a Lyft office. Lyft Hubs are no longer open as of November 2022.
