And if you’re part of a travel rewards program, you can get extra travel points when you link your Lyft account with Delta Skymiles, Hilton Honors, or the Alaska Mileage Plan.

Chase rewards on Lyft: Get cash back and points

Through a Lyft partnership with Chase, you can get cash back or additional points when you pay for a Lyft ride with an eligible Chase card.

The current benefits for Chase cardholders are valid until March 2025.

The maximum cash back you can get is 10% with Chase Sapphire Preserve. Other Chase cards offer 5% back or 5x points.

To track your points, go to the Ultimate Rewards center at Chase.com. The Lyft app does not display any info about Chase points.

Visit Lyft.com for complete details about Lyft/Chase rewards.

5% cash back vs 5x total points: What’s the difference?

Some Chase cards offer 5% cash back on Lyft, while others offer 5x total points. If you are eligible for both, which one is the better choice?

It depends on how you use credit card points. If you’re the type of person who likes to use points to find good deals on travel and rewards, you’ll want the 5x points instead of the 5% back.

With 5x total points, you can apply the points to Chase rewards offers that may give you extra discounts. With 5% cash back, you are limited to only getting cash back.

How to activate a free Lyft Pink membership

Chase Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders can get 2 free years of Lyft Pink All Access.

To activate your membership, add the qualifying card as a payment method. Then, tap Menu > Lyft Pink. Follow the steps to activate your trial.

Make sure the signup page has the correct details about your 2 free years of Lyft Pink All Access. If it doesn’t, make sure that you added a qualifying card.

Mastercard and Lyft: $5 in Lyft credit when you take 3 rides per month

Use your World or World Elite Mastercard to pay for 3 Lyft rides per month to receive $5 in Lyft credit every month.

The $5 credits is automatically applied to your next ride. To save the credit for a different ride, change your payment method to a different card after the ride is completed.

Rules: The $5 credit expires 30 days after it has been awarded, so use it or lose it!

You can’t use the credit to pay for tips, cancellation & damage fees, gift card, or subscriptions.

Get the most points by setting an eligible card as your default payment method

The best way to guarantee that you get as many points as possible is to set your Chase card as the default payment for Lyft.

Go to Menu > Payment > Payment defaults to set a default payment method.

Head to Menu > Rewards in the Lyft app to link an eligible travel rewards account. Scroll to the Travel Rewards section and tap to link an account.

Earn miles for every dollar you spend on Lyft

Travel rewards rules: You can only link one rewards account

You can only link one mileage plan to your Lyft account. And you can only connect one Lyft account to each mileage plan.

So if you’re in several travel rewards programs, you won’t be able to stack the rewards.

Which travel rewards are the best on Lyft?

The cash value for the rewards is about the same for all three programs, so the best one to link is the one you use the most, or currently offers the best benefits for each point.

Strategies to maximize your Lyft rewards

The best way to maximize your Lyft rewards is to link your most frequently used travel program and pay for rides with the credit card that offers the best rewards.

If you have more than one eligible credit card, strategically switch between them to maximize your benefits.

For example, use your World Mastercard 3 times to get the $5 reward, then switch back to a Chase card to accumulate points and cash back.

And make sure to take full advantage of Lyft Pink if you’re eligible for the free membership.
