Uber ride types that are not in every city
Uber WAV offers wheelchair-accessible vehicles that accommodate disabled riders. This service is for passengers who can not get out of their wheelchairs. A WAV ride costs the same as an Uber X ride.
Uber Courier is a delivery service that allows you to send and receive packages or return packages to a shipping store.
Uber Assist is for passengers who need assistance getting in and out of a vehicle, or need extra space to accommodate assistive devices like walkers and folding wheelchairs. An Uber Assist ride costs the same as an UberX ride.
Uber Pet is for passengers who want to ride with an animal. Drivers opt into Uber Pet and will be prepared to accommodate one animal. Uber Pet costs more than UberX.
UberX Share is a shared ride that pairs you with other passengers heading in the same direction as you. You get a discount on the ride if the system
Uber Español is an UberX with a Spanish-speaking driver
Uber Car Seat is a vehicle equipped with a car seat. Available in New York City, Orlando, Philadelphia,
Uber LUX: High-end luxury cars like a Mercedes S Class, Tesla Model S, BMW 7-Series, etc.
Uber X Teen: Allows unaccompanied teens aged 13–17 to request an Uber ride or delivery
How to see which ride types are available in your city
In the Uber app, enter a destination and scroll through the ride types at the bottom of the screen to see which ride types are available.

Uber WAV and Assist: Wheelchair-accessible vehicles and special assistance
Uber WAV and Assist services are for passengers with disabilities and special needs.
WAV stands for wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Uber WAV drivers can accommodate passengers who use wheelchairs.
Uber Assist is for passengers who may need extra help getting in and out of the vehicle. Note that Assist vehicles are not wheelchair-accessible, so request WAV if you need to ride your wheelchair into the vehicle.
WAV and Assist are typically only available in major metro areas. Check Uber.com/cities or the Uber app to see if you can get a WAV or Assist ride in your area.

Uber Car Seat: Vehicles equipped with a car seat
The Uber Car Seat ride type guarantees that your driver will be equipped with a car seat. There is a surcharge for this service in addition to regular UberX rates.

For Uber drivers: You can earn an extra $7 per Car Seat ride if you purchase an eligible car seat and opt into the program.

Uber Courier: Package delivery on demand
Uber Courier is a local delivery service that allows you to send or receive a package.
When you request an Uber Courier, a nearby driver will arrive at your location to pick up & deliver your package.
Items must not be more than 30 pounds and it should be able to fit in the trunk of a typical passenger vehicle.

UberX Share: Share your ride with strangers and get a discount
With UberX Share, the Uber app attempts to pair you with another rider heading in the same direction as you. You will get a discount on your ride if you end up sharing your car.
The Uber app tells drivers how to pick up and drop off passengers, so don’t be surprised if your driver has to make a stop before your destination.
UberEspañol: UberX with Spanish-speaking drivers
Passengers can request a Spanish-speaking UberX driver with the Español service. There are no additional fees for using Español; the cost is the same as UberX.
Español is confirmed to be available in many California cities and Chicago.
How to drive for Uber Español
In cities that offer Español, Uber will ask you if you speak Spanish during the application process and occasionally send you promotional emails asking if you’d like to opt into the Español service.

Uber LUX: High-end luxury service
Uber LUX is a ride in a high-end luxury vehicle like a top-of-the-line BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Tesla, and even Rolls Royce.
How is Lux different than Black and Black SUV? Uber Black requires commercial registration and only allows black vehicles. Uber Lux doesn’t require commercial registration, so anyone with a qualifying vehicle can drive.
LUX is available in Los Angeles and Miami.
Lux is the most expensive Uber ride type
Uber for teens: Parents can request a ride for their teen age 13–17
Normally, Uber doesn’t allow unaccompanied minors under age 18 to take an Uber ride alone.
But with Uber for teens, younger riders can request a ride or delivery after their parent or guardian adds them as a verified user to a family profile.

As far as I know, you can’t book a cab via Uber. There are probably some taxi apps for NYC that would allow you to get a somewhat uber-like experience though

You can do a total of 3 stops using the Uber app, and it can be a round trip. But each stop can only be 2 minutes, so it’s only good for very very brief errands. Here’s how to do a round trip in an Uber

UberTEEN is alive and kicking haha not really, but I end up driving kids as young as 8 years old to school in the mornings, something I would NEVER do as a parent!

Haha. What will the Uber kids be like when they grow up? Just so you know, you do NOT have to give rides to unaccompanied minors. You are fully in your rights to deny the ride.

I’ve done UberPool in Denver, and UberAssist in Portland. I’m in A small Colorado town now and they offer UberSki, but I’m not equipped for that. The only other services they have are UberX and UberXL.

How do I get in touch with Uber-wav. My husband and I are both disabled. We have wheelchairs. And luggage to take to midway airport Wednesday night.

The best way to check if WAV is in your area is to open the app, enter a sample destination, and see if WAV is available as a ride option at the bottom of the screen. Not every market has it. You can also go to the Uber page for your city at uber.com/cities and see if the WAV service is listed there.
