Contact Uber Eats customer service: Find the phone number, live chat, and more!

By Doug H, Updated August 5, 2025 30 Comments

Need to contact Uber Eats customer service for an issue with your delivery?

Unlike Uber rides, Uber Eats has a customer support phone line that you can call when you have a problem.

Need to talk to Uber Eats support? You can call the Uber Eats customer service phone number at 1-800-253-9377

And you can chat with uber eats support by reporting a problem with your order. Go to the receipt for your order, select “Get help,” and choose an issue. A live chat with customer service will begin after you report the issue.

But the best way to get help depends on your situation—calling isn’t always the best option! Read on to learn how to contact Uber Eats customer service and quickly solve the most common problems.

Best ways to contact Uber Eats customer service

  • After an order: Report order issues with the “Get help” button at the bottom of every order receipt
    • A live chat with customer service begins after you report an issue
  • During an order: Call the Uber Eats phone service number: 1-800-253-9377
  • Visit help.uber.com/ubereats to report problems and chat with customer service
  • Uber support Twitter account: @Uber_Support

If your delivery is complete…

Report problems in the Get help area at the bottom of every order receipt or at help.uber.com to begin a chat with Uber Eats support. This is the best option to request a refund for missing items, a missing order, slow delivery, and other common problems.

If you are still waiting for an order…

Call customer service or contact your driver. Customer service can help you change or cancel your order.

Want a refund?

Uber Eats typically only gives a full refund if your order never arrived. Expect a partial refund for missing items or poor food quality. Report issues in the Get help area of every order receipt to begin the process.

Steps to get help while waiting for your order

If you’re waiting for an order, the best way to get help is to use the support tools on the order tracking screen.

The tracking screen has options to cancel your order or get more help. Calling customer service will be one of the options.

Call Uber Eats customer service during an order to:

  • Change the delivery address shortly after placing the order
  • Add or change items in your order shortly after placing the order
  • Cancel the order

Only Uber customer service agents can contact the restaurant to change your order or change your delivery address. And after a certain stage, only customer service can cancel your order.

If you call customer service to change your delivery address, be aware that your driver is not required to deliver to the new address. They can choose to deliver to the new address or cancel the order.

And if the new address is outside of the delivery zone, support will cancel your order.

Get help after your order has been picked up by a driver

You can call or text message your driver to provide information about the drop-off. However, your driver can’t add items to the order or cancel the order for you.

To cancel an order after it has been picked up, you must call support.

How to cancel an Uber Eats order

The steps to cancel an order depend on how far along in the order process you are.

You can cancel from the order tracking screen before the order has been picked up and while the restaurant is preparing your order.

Cancel while your order is still being prepared: Tap Carts on the bottom of the screen and select the order. On the tracking page for the order, tap the three dots in the upper right corner, then tap Cancel Order.

Cancel after the order is picked up and on the way: Call customer service at 1-800-253-9377. You can’t cancel from the order tracking screen after a driver picks up your order.

Cancel fees: Pay a fee if you cancel too far into the order

Uber can charge you a cancellation fee if you cancel after the restaurant has begun preparing your order.

If you cancel after a courier picks up your order, you will be charged full price for the order.

How to contact your delivery courier

You can contact your delivery person once they are on the way to pick up your order from the restaurant.

After you match with a delivery driver, you will see their information on the order tracking screen. Tap the message bubble or phone icon to contact the driver.

Contact your driver to:

  • Give additional instructions about the drop-off location that you didn’t put in your delivery notes
  • If the driver is still at the restaurant, ask for free items like extra sauce or napkins. Do not ask to add extra paid items!

You can contact your driver after they are on the way to pick up your order

Your delivery courier has no control over the order’s contents, how fast the restaurant prepared the food, or any issues with your experience with the Uber app.

After the delivery is complete, you’ll no longer be able to call the driver.

How to get help after your order is delivered

After your order has been delivered, the best way to get help from Uber is to use the “Get help” section found at the bottom of every order receipt.

The ‘Get Help’ feature is where you can report common issues like:

  • Order never arrived
  • Missing items, wrong items
  • Issues with food quality
  • Problems with applying promotions and free credits
  • A complaint about your delivery driver

A live chat with Uber Eats support will begin after you report the issue. You can wait for a response or add additional detail.

Tap the cart icon at the bottom of the app, then tap “Orders” at the top of the screen. Select your order and scroll to the “Get help” button.

Every order has a “Get help” button that leads to a customer service chat

A chat thread with Uber customer support will begin after you select an issue and provide more detail. Depending on the situation, you may receive a partial or full refund.

How to start a live chat with Uber Eats support at any time

A live chat with Uber Eats customer support will begin after you report an issue with an order. You can wait for a response or provide additional details about your problem.

You can also start a live chat with customer service even if you don’t have an issue with a recent order.

There is a “Chat with us” button at the bottom of many pages in the Help section of the app that begins a live chat with support.

To find Chat with us in the Uber app, tap Account > Help. Tap around in the Help topics until you find one with Chat with us at the bottom of the page.

One reliable way to find the Chat with us button is: Help > Account and payments > Can’t sign in > Chat Support for Sign-In Issues

Get customer service at help.uber.com/ubereats

You can also contact Uber Eats customer service at help.uber.com/ubereats. After you sign in, you can select from your orders and report problems you had with the order.

The tools at help.uber.com are similar to the ones in the Get Help section of the Uber Eats app. Start by finding the order that you’re having an issue with, then select an issue from the menu.

After you submit the issue, a message thread with Uber customer support will begin.

“You’ve exceeded your support attempts”

Uber can block you from further customer support for an order if you uuse the automated support features too many times. When Uber support declines a refund, you might go back to the Help section to try again.

But if you do it too many times, you might get blocked by a screen that says, “You’ve exceeded your support attempts. It looks like you’ve tried our automated support several times for this order. We’ve provided the best support possible and this order is no longer eligible for further review.”

Uber can block you from further support if you make too many requests

If Uber blocks you from additional support for an order, that’s a signal that their decision is final. You can still try to chat with customer support about the order, but you’re not likely to make any progress.

Common Uber Eats problems & solutions

You can address most of the typical problems with an order by using the help features in the app. You don’t need to call customer service to get help with the most common problems.

Missing items from an order

If your order was missing items, or you received the incorrect items, you can report the issue to Uber Eats and get a refund on those items.

In the order receipt, scroll to “Get help” and select “Wrong or missing items.”

Your Uber Eats driver can’t replace any missing or incorrect items. Don’t contact your driver about missing items after the order is complete—they can’t replace items!

Order never arrived

You can get a full refund if your order never arrived. Scroll to “Get help” in the order receipt and select “My order never arrived.”

However, you might not get a refund if the order was a ‘leave at door’ order and the driver has photographic proof that they dropped it off.

How to get a refund from Uber Eats

There is no direct way to request a refund, but you can get your money back if you report an issue with your order and Uber decides that you deserve a refund.

Typically, Uber only issues full refunds if your order doesn’t arrive at all, or if there was some other serious incident during your delivery.

To get a refund, report your issue in the Get help section of the order receipt or at help.uber.com. Uber may respond by offering a refund.

For other issues—like missing items or slow service—you will only receive a partial refund or no refund at all.

But there’s an upper limit to refunds: Uber can decline to give you additional refunds if you’ve received too many refunds in the past.

I’m trying to submit my documentations to drive for Uber Eats, but I’m having difficulty with 2 part of it: Background Check (keeps saying it’s submitted but then the next page says “Needs your attention” still. The next one is Vehicle Registration/Blue Sticker on Car. It’s showing the license plate, is that incorrect?

I’m not exactly sure how it works in your state. In CA, they have you upload a photo of your paper registration.
